"Shock of Lightning"

Published by mellers84 under Uncategorized Edit This

“Shock of Lightning,” the new Oasis video directed by. Julian House and Julian Gibbs made its Internet debut Aug. 25.
The first single itself is unlike any other Oasis material… a median between their happy-go-lucky Britpop origins and their latest release, “Don’t Believe the Truth.”
Although “The Shock of Lightning” is full of guitar riffs, Liam Gallagher’s tuned down nasally vocals, and heavier drums, it is far from the psychedelic images flashed before you for four minutes.
The psychedelic images of Oasis, nature and political figures would be more fitting for any song off Pink Floyd’s “The Wall.”
Even if the video is completely random and an attempt to change Oasis’ imaged, the song deserves credit for one of the best singles of the year.

More like wonder what they were thinking!

Cookin’ Soul, a trio out of Spain, tried to be the ultimate mediator. It’s no secret Oasis has generated another feud, this time with Jay Z. Cookin’ Soul has remixed Oasis’ classic, “Wonderwall,” with Jay-Z’s New York performance. The awful remix is titled, “Wonderback.”highly publicized remix has generated over 90,000 downloads… it’s amazing what media frenzy can do.
The remix is painful to listen to. There are some songs that do not belong together. “Wonderwall” is a great enough song to stand alone, it should not be tampered with and polluted with the likes of Jay-Z. The remix is consistent and follows a pattern like any song, but the rapping of Jay-Z is not backed well by the unique styling of Liam Gallagher.
The feud is best left alone to be dealt with by all involved. Let’s all pray there’s never a live performance of this completely forgettable remix.

Landlord says no.

Published by mellers84 under Uncategorized Edit This

Babyshambles’ manager said the show would go on even if they had to hold it at Pete Doherty’s home after Moonfest was cancelled last week.

Although it sounds like a good idea- or a comment taken out of context by the media- Doherty’s landlord isn’t so keen on the idea.
He issued a statement to the police stating,

“Please advise your colleagues that ‘Pete’s house’ is actually Sturmy House. That house is the property of the trustees of Savernake Estate and any such thing would certainly constitute a breach of his lease of our property.”

“So, should Doherty’s manager ever plan to carry out his threat, please be advised in advance that there are absolutely no circumstances in which the owners of that house where Doherty lives would ever sanction such a thing.”

Perhaps just a minor set back….

In other news… an official Babyshambles book is set to release in the beginning of November. Band member Adam Ficek said it will give details about Doherty and KateMoss’ rocky romance and his drug problems. Not only will it tell Doherty’s story but how it has affected the other band members as well. The book is available for pre-order at Amazon.com.
