The Long Blondes "Call if a day"

Via MySpace and their Web site, The Long Blondes have officially announced their separation. Dorian Cox issued a statement blaming the split up on his illness. In June he fell ill and was diagnosed with having suffered a stroke. The band at the time was forced to cancel a string of gigs.
Unfortunately he is unsure when and if ever he will be ready to play guitar again.
Aside from announcing the separation Cox thanked the fans. ” On behalf of the band I’d like to say a big thank you to anyone who ever came to one of our shows, bought one of our records or danced to one of our songs in a club. Thank you, if it wasn’t for you the whole thing would have been pointless.”
The Long Blondes joined forces in 2005 and gained quick recognition earning the Philip Hall Radar Award at the Shockwave NME Awards in 2006.
Today the Long Blondes released their last album, a compilation, “Singles.” Past releases included 2006’s “Someone to Drive You Home” and early 2008’s “Couples.”
