An Unlikely Obsession
My roommate, Andy, put it best, “Are you guys STILL listening to All American Rejects? Weren’t they popular when we were in high school?”
For the record, yes we are still listening to the All American Rejects. Every time we hear “Swing Swing” it’s like we are 15 and have picture of Tyson Ritter on our walls again. He is the background on our computers and they are only music coming from our iPods and MySpaces.
Who knew all of this could come from one video?
We don’t listen to the same music, except New Kids on the Block, so when I was telling our other friend about the video I saw of All American Rejects singing her fave Britney Spears’ “Womanizer,” I couldn’t believe Dana’s outburst. “Oh my God, I saw that! It’s so funny. The lead singer is so hot. Did you watch their new video where he’s dressed like a geek?”
I still don’t believe it. Yet for three days now if I’m not blasting it throughout our apartment she is.
This is what started it all.
The lack of instruments, joy of sarcasm and use of beer bottles makes this video unique and catchy. Oh and yes, the eye candy. Watch it, love it, join the trend.
