Glasvegas won Xfm’s New Music Award for best debut album of 2008.

The band was nominated by listener’s poll to find the best debut albums of the year.  The nominees were judged by Gary Lightbody (Snow Patrol), Peter Hook (New Order), John Leckie (Radiohead producer), Matthew Horne (Gavin and Stacey actor) and Carl Barat (Dirty Pretty Things, The Libertines).

“It’s a first class debut album in that it is memorable, passionate and well formed,” Leckie said.

“Every track is a winner, leaves you wanting more and wondering what will come next. I wish I’d produced it,” he added.
